So I was in the break room at work yesterday, and I was talking to one of the optometrists about school. He asked me what I was studying, so I told him marketing. Then he said that it was a good major, but that I should consider getting a master's degree after I graduate. I never really thought about continuing school to get an MBA because I was happy with just the idea of graduating college. He told me that it would probably be harder for me to find a good marketing job with just my degree.
I'm not even sure what I want to do with my degree when I get it or what kind of business I wanted to get myself into, but now he has me thinking that it's going to be even harder for me to figure anything out if I don't try to get a master's degree. I really don't want to continue with school once I graduate because I just want to get out there into the real world and just find a decent job for me to survive on my own. But now I don't even know what kind of decent job or what kind of future is ahead of me with just a bachelor's degree. I'm kind of scared now. Where will a marketing degree really lead me in the marketing business.

all about HEATHER!!
Hello, hello....
My name is Heather. I'm 21 years old and a third year at SJSU. I was undeclared for my first two years at state, but declared my major to Marketing over the summer. I graduated in 2004 from Willow Glen High. I was actually real nervous about going to State, fearing that I couldn't hack it in college, but I'm glad that I chose to attend college straight out of high school.
I was born July 3, 1985 in Chicago, Illinois. I lived there for a a short period of time, then moved to the Philippines. I lived in the Philippines until the age of 5, then moved to Milpitas with my mom and my older brother. My brother and I are 5years apart.
I am a full-time student and work part time as an eyewear consultant at Lens Crafters in Valley Fair. It's actually pretty interesting to work at an optometry place. You would think that it would be a boring job, but there's actually a lot to do. I actually just started working there recently. Before Lens Crafters, I worked part-time in retail at Express for nearly 3years. It was a good experience, and is the main reason why I wanted to get into my marketing major.
My school load, work load, and social life are starting to get tougher to handle, but it's made me a better and stronger person. I just take it one day at a time, and try not to stress out so much. God knows that the last thing I need is to stress out and lose more weight!
